Brookstone Community Development District

Brookstone Community Development District (“District”) is an independent special district, created pursuant to and existing under the provisions of Chapter 190, Florida Statutes, as amended, with all the rights and obligations appertaining thereto, including obligations accruing pursuant to applicable federal, state and local laws and established by the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners’ approval of Ordinance No. 16-04 on January 26, 2016. The District includes within its boundaries approximately 444.6 acres of land located in Manatee County.

The Brookstone CDD encompasses an area of approximately 444.6 acres within unincorporated Manatee County. The land within the District is generally located north of Moccasin Wallow Road, south of Buckeye Road, directly west of State Road 43 (US 301).

The Brookstone CDD is also authorized to exercise special powers to plan establish, acquire construct or reconstruct, enlarge or extend, equip, operate and maintain additional systems and facilities for Parks and facilities for indoor and outdoor recreational, cultural and educational uses and Security, including by not limited to guardhouses, fences, and gates, electronic intrusion systems, and patrol cars, when authorized by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Department or other proper governmental agencies; except that the District may not exercise any police power, but may contract with the appropriate local general-purpose government agencies for an increased level of such services within the District boundaries.

The Brookstone Community Development District is a local, special-purpose government entity authorized by Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes as amended, and established on January 26, 2016 by the Manatee County, Florida Board of County Commissioners Ordinance No. 16-04. The Board consents to special powers set forth in Section 190.012(2), Florida Statutes, as amended, with all the rights and obligations appertaining thereto, including obligations accruing pursuant to applicable federal, state and local laws.
